A held space where body, mind, and emotions can come into harmony, allowing deep relaxation and the experience of Spanda states.
The Kashmiri Shaivist tantra master Abhinavagupta described Spanda as “the ecstatic pulsation of divine consciousness.”
Tandava is one of the most beautiful meditations in Kashmiri Tantra, created by yogis 6–8 thousand years ago. It is based on the understanding that when we release our limitations — emotional, physical, mental — the body can naturally merge with the whole.
Tandava is a non-dual practice, a movement meditation often called the love dance of Shiva and Shakti, consciousness and energy.
How?
You are supported by a held space and the presence of the facilitators. We use connected breathing and the practice of tandava to regulate the nervous system and bring body, mind, and emotions into harmony.
This is a deep, safe, guided process of breath and movement that helps release tension, reconnect with the body, and support healing. Connected breathing fills you with energy and may create sensations of “electricity” in the palms or throughout the body. Through the tandava movement meditation, you may experience ecstatic pulsation — Spanda states, a sense of oneness with infinite space, spontaneity, and release.
The workshop includes both breathwork lying on mats and the movement meditation of tandava. It is a beautiful combination for opening the body and awakening your energy.
